DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
A business in the tourism industry that creates, plans, organizes and guides tours and activities in South Africa and China.
PRICING POLICY
Reserves the right to change their prices without notice.
SERVICE DELIVERY POLICY
Subject to availability and receipt of payment and delivery confirmed by way of payment confirmation.
BOOKING DEPOSITS, PAYMENTS, and CANCELLATION SCHEDULE
LOCAL ONE DAY TRIPS:
1. Bookings – payment must be paid in full before booking is confirmed.
2. Cancellation and refunds – 100% refund before 24hour of trip start. No refund from 24 hours of trip start.
MULTI DAY TRIPS/CHINA TOURS:
1. Non-Refundable Booking Deposit
To secure your place on the tour, a deposit equal to 25% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking. This 25% deposit is immediately non-refundable and non-transferable, as these funds are instantly committed to our Chinese Destination Management Company (DMC) to secure permits, domestic transport, and hotel/accomodation allocations and other logistics.
2. Balance Payment
The remaining 75% balance of the tour price must be paid in full no later than sixty (60) days prior to the tour departure date. If the balance is not received by this date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled, and the 25% deposit will be forfeited.
3. Cancellation Timeline and Forfeiture Scale
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing. Because we incur immediate operational costs with international suppliers, refunds for cancellations are strictly bound by the following timeline:
Cancellation 61 days or more prior to departure: The 25% booking deposit is forfeited. Any balance amounts paid over and above the 25% deposit will be refunded (less payment gateway transaction fees and refund amount can vary depending on exchange rate differences on time of refund).
Cancellation 60 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of the total tour price is completely non-refundable and forfeited. No refunds or credits will be issued under any circumstances.
No Show
If guests do not arrive on the designated time or are later than 15mins and did not communicate with us about being late then it will be condidered a no show and there will be no refund in anyway.
1. Payment Methods & Processing Gateways
To ensure transaction security, we route payments through dedicated, secure third-party payment gateways based on your tour category:
- Local Cape Town Day Tours: Processed securely via Yoco.
- Cross-Border & Regional Tours: Processed securely via PayGenius to facilitate multi-currency and split-payment transactions.
2. Payment Terms & Schedules
- Local Cape Town Day Tours: Required in full upfront at the time of booking. Your reservation will not be confirmed until 100% of the payment is cleared.
- Cross-Border & Regional Tours: A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be settled in full by the due date specified on your invoice (60 days prior to the tour departure date). Failure to pay the balance on time may result in the forfeiture of your deposit and booking.
3. Multi-Currency & Exchange Rates
- Local Tours: Priced, billed, and processed strictly in South African Rand (ZAR).
- Cross-Border Tours: Priced and billed in multi-currency options (e.g., USD, EUR, GBP) via PayGenius and will be cleared in ZAR.
- Currency Fluctuations: The customer is liable for the exact foreign currency value stated on the invoice. We are not responsible for any additional foreign transaction fees, bank charges, or variations in the final amount caused by currency conversion rates applied by your credit card issuer or processing bank.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Source Gateway Refunds: Approved refunds will strictly be credited back to the original payment method and gateway used during booking (Yoco for local day tours; PayGenius for cross-border tours).
- Non-Refundable Deposits: For cross-border tours, the initial deposit is non-refundable, except in instances where we are forced to cancel the itinerary due to operational constraints.
- Exchange Discrepancies: Refunds for multi-currency cross-border tours are issued in the original currency billed. We accept no liability for any financial shortfalls experienced by the customer due to fluctuating exchange rates or bank processing fees between the date of the original payment and the date of the refund.
PAYMENT OPTIONS ACCEPTED
We accept the following secure payment methods depending on your tour type:
1. Local Cape Town Day Tours (Processed via Yoco Payment Links & Terminal)
- Secure Payment Links: You will receive a secure Yoco link via email or WhatsApp for upfront digital payment.
- Credit & Debit Cards: Visa and Mastercard.
- Digital Wallets: Apple Pay and Google Pay.
2. Cross-Border & Regional Tours (Processed via PayGenius Payment Links & Portal)
Secure Deposit & Balance Links: You will receive a secure PayGenius digital invoice link to pay your initial deposit and final multi-currency balance.
International Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express (Amex), and Diners Club.
Multi-Currency Settlement: Payments accepted in South African Rand (ZAR), US Dollars (USD), Euros (EUR), and British Pounds (GBP).
Secure Electronic Funds Transfer: Instant EFT options available directly through the payment link portal.
CARD ACQUIRING AND SECURITY
By completing a booking, you agree to your payment data being processed by our designated partners (Yoco or PayGenius). We do not store or have access to your full credit card details. Both providers comply strictly with PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) regulations.
MERCHANT OUTLET COUNTRY AND TRANSACTION CURRENCY
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
RESPONSIBILITY
Jikelele Adventures (Pty Ltd) takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
GUEST HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
A basic level of health and fitness is required for all physical activities. Guests are to inform their guide of any medical conditions that could affect their health or safety on a tour or activity. All tours and activities are at your own risk. Signed indemnity/waiver release forms are required before departing on any tour or activity.
For high altitude trips, you need to be fit to hike long distance and steep ground in high altitude and if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure please consult with your Doctor and present a medical check and clearance. We highMedical checks will be mandatory for all participants.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is highly recommended that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, including trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and loss of personal belongings.
For our high altitude expedition trekking trips, all guests are to take out/add on high altitude insurance 3500m to 4500m for emergency rescue and evacuation.
LIABILITY AND COMPANY INSURANCE
We accept no responsibility for any loss, injury, or damage sustained by clients during the tour and with our partners.
Clients participate in tours at their own risk and are required to sign a liability waiver before commencing the tour.
Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to alter itineraries, accommodations, and activities due to unforeseen circumstances or safety concerns.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Clients are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully towards fellow tour participants, staff, and local communities.
Any behaviour deemed unacceptable by Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd may result in the client being removed from the tour without refund.
PRIVACY POLICY
Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd respects the privacy of its clients and will only use personal information for the purpose of booking and organizing tours.
Personal information will not be shared with third parties without the client’s consent, except as required by law.
FORCE MAJEURE
Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms and conditions due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or government restrictions.
JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
VARIATION
Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
CONFIRMATION
By booking a tour with Jikelele Adventures (Pty) Ltd clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
